Pauline Mill

The Pauline Mill can offer families a full day of relaxation. Its surroundings are exceptionally peaceful and calm. Children can ride: pony rides await the little ones, while riding on young horses awaits the more skilled.

The first mention of the mill dates from the 1400s, when it was in the possession of the Örményes Pauline Monastery. After the dissolution of the Pauline Order, it became the property of the Archbishop of Veszprém, and then, from 1888, private property. Its last owner was Gyula Zsohár. The mill ground grain until 1960, after which it slowly fell into decay.

During the renovation, it was restored to its 1903 condition. Its main elements are two overshot water wheels, a roller mill and a pair of millstones. The mill is operational and produces flour in its characteristic rhythm. On the walls, related everyday objects and documents can be viewed. The mill is privately owned and the owners are happy to welcome interested visitors. There is no entrance fee or set opening hours. If the door is open, come on in; if not, arrange a time with us and we'll be waiting for you.
